The Assistant HR Manager at Hotel Academy Vietnam_VET by EHL supports the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, training coordination, compensation & benefits (C&B), employee relations, and HR administration. This role collaborates with department heads to execute HR strategies aligned with the Academy’s academic and operational objectives.
The Assistant HR Manager ensures compliance with labor laws and internal policies, while fostering a positive, professional, and growth-oriented work environment for staff and faculty.
* Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding
· Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, from job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, to selection.
· Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including orientation, documentation, and integration into the Hotel Academy’s culture.
· Work with academic and operational leaders to forecast manpower needs and plan timely hiring.
- Training & Development
· Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.
· Support academic training coordination, including internal upskilling and instructional excellence.
· Monitor training effectiveness and maintain training records.
· Facilitate and co-deliver sessions related to the VET by EHL program.
- Compensation & Benefits (C&B)
· Manage monthly payroll, attendance, and leave tracking with accuracy and confidentiality.
· Administer employee benefits programs, including insurance, allowances, and statutory obligations.
· Conduct periodic benchmarking to ensure competitive C&B packages.
· Support C&B-related communication to ensure employee understanding and transparency.
· Analysing market trends and industrial practices in compensation and benefits; researching and proposing competitive salary, benefits and incentive programs to ensure the Company attracts and retains top talent.
· Building up the manning, payroll expenses and overall HR budget for the Company.
- Employee Relations
· Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and engagement.
· Promote a respectful and supportive work culture through proactive communication and conflict resolution.
· Support disciplinary and performance-related discussions in accordance with internal policy and labor law.
- HR Administration
· Maintain up-to-date employee records, contracts, and HR documents in compliance with regulations.
· Prepare HR reports and assist in audits or internal reviews when needed.
· Ensure timely renewal of contracts, probation reviews, and other HR cycles.
· Facilitating the VET by EHL Program
· Understand the structure, standards, and objectives of the VET by EHL curriculum.
· Support the delivery of training quality through coordination with facilitators and instructors.
· Act as a co-facilitator where appropriate, to ensure adherence to academic quality standards and student engagement.
- Team Collaboration
· Work collaboratively with the Dean, academic teams, and operational departments to ensure HR support meets both educational and business goals.
· Contribute to cross-functional projects and support a culture of teamwork, open communication, and shared responsibility.
· Help build a positive team spirit and foster strong interdepartmental relationships.
*Qualifications and Experience
· 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources management or similar role, with pre – opening experience is a plus
· Computer proficient and extensive use in software programs
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese and English, other languages a plus
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, HR, Business Administration, Education or relevant
· Creative thinker with the ability to work on own initiative and iterate best practices
· Hospitality mindset, positive attitude
· High levels of interaction with all others, facilitating and training
